I’ll probably take a break from these this month because of Camp NaNo and schoolwork, but here’s one since I finished a book this week. This is the meme hosted by samannelizabeth.

What I’m Reading:

12926132

Palace of Stone by Shannon Hale

Cute so far. I’m interested to see where this leads! It’s got a really good set up, and I am enjoying the male love interest a lot. I hope he stays. (YA has taught me to fear the love triangle. Since this is MG, hopefully it won’t fall into that trap.) Tamora Pierce says it’s better than the first one though, so I’m looking forward to being surprised.

What I Recently Finished:

7030046

The Thief by Megan Whalen Turner

All in all, I really enjoyed this book. The writing was beautiful, and the world-building was quite nice, and the characters were amazing. I loved all of the travel companions, especially Pol and Sophos. Our main character Gen was fantastic!  However, some parts of the story were a bit slow and repetitive. The characters are on the road most of the time, and the plot is fairly simple. Man hires thief to steal thing. The second half of the book picks up pace quickly. At that point, it became impossible to put down until I’d finished!

What I’ll Read Soon:

40158

The Queen of Attolia by Megan Whalen Turner

I really liked the first book, and I’ve heard the second is much better. Hopefully it’ll blow me away. I’m very impressed with Megan Whalen Turner. There’s four books in this series so far. Rumor has it there will be two more. Excited to devour more of this!

    1. Both The Thief and Palace of Stones are quick reads. I’ve been trying to find shorter books lately because I haven’t had as much time to read. I’d certainly recommend The Thief if you want to slip in an extra one. Though it’ll likely make you want to read the other books in the series which are longer. Lol. 🙂

      1. First books in series are always dangerous 🙂 I thought I’d just sneak in Never Never because is was short and ended up reading the other 2 books in the series straight after. oops 🙂
